Zanesville Campus community supports Haiti relief effort Haiti still has yet to recover from a devastating earthquake in January 2010. Thanks to the efforts of community groups, help continues. Ohio University Zanesville students, faculty and staff are among those who stepped up to assist. Sarah McDonald, a native of Nashport and a recent OHIO graduate, came to the Zanesville campus to raise awareness of the situation in Haiti after having a personal connection with the country. She spent the summer of 2006 at the Hope Center, an orphanage in Haiti. After sharing photos of the center before and after the earthquake, it touched the hearts of those in attendance, who started a Hearts for Haiti project to raise money for the relief efforts.
