College is Power presentation set A college education opens doors to a better job.For those still deciding whether or not to go to college, Vicki DeLucas, financial aid coordinator at Ohio University-Zanesville can help. In an informative presentation, DeLucas will provide information on why college is power in today’s competitive world. Participants also will discover things they can do to get accepted at their college of choice. Most importantly, DeLucas will share information about financing a college education, including how to apply for financial aid, the differences among the various types of financial aid and more. For example, attendees will learn about five types of financial assistance including grants and scholarships, student employment and work study, student loans, education tax benefits and military student aid. The College is Power program is being held in collaboration with the John McIntire Public Library to encourage everyone to pursue a college degree. The free seminar will be held on Monday, November 22, at 6:30 p.m. at the John McIntire Library Room B.
