Art and Energy Featured at May's 3rd Thursday Event at Zanesville

Ohio University-Zanesville's Third Thursday event series is designed to provide educational, cultural and diversity programming to the community. The Third Thursday event for May will feature the Eastern Ohio Art Guild and Dr. Gordon Aubrect, II of Ohio State University.
 
 "Favorite Works from the Past" includes works of Eastern Ohio Art Guild artists, featuring 19 local artists in a variety of medium. Artists will be on hand from 5-6:45 p.m. on May 20. The show will be on display through June 4 during normal library operating hours.

Artists and their medium included in the exhibit include Frederick R. Abrams, woodcarving and wood burning; Jean Barker, acrylic; Martha Davis Rice, watercolor and painting on silk; Marie Dolmas Lekorenos, acrylic and mixed media; Crystal Fuller, acrylic; Kiyoe Howald, mixed media and ink wash drawings; Judith Humphrey, photography, painting and collage; Darwin Dale Jerles, acrylic; Alaina Kinsfather, graphite; Judy McKee, oil on canvas; Donna Mertus-Brill, watercolor; LeAnn Leas, watercolor; Janet Neff Sowers, photography; Myong Orr, acrylic; Joan Quinn, watercolor; Ralph Sells, photography; Michael Shephard, acrylic; and Carrie Turner, assemblage.

At 7 p.m. on May 20, Dr. Gordon Aubrect, II, of Ohio State University, will present "Energy, Climate, Science and Sense." This interactive program about physics in today's world will be held in the Elson Hall Auditorium.
