Patrick Henry (Jolly) visits Southern for Constitution Day event Patrick Henry typically is not remembered for his role in the creation of the U.S. Constitution. In fact, he was not even present when the document was created. However, we may not have the incredible document we have today if it were not for the intense efforts of Virginia's Patrick Henry. On Sept. 17 at 11 a.m., Patrick Henry's descendant, Patrick Henry Jolly, will perform at the Southern campus, offering highlights from Henry's childhood through his exciting political career. The program also will feature a special performance of the speech which culminated with the fiery words, “…give me liberty, or give me death!” The event is open to the public and several local school children will be in attendance. Jolly resides in Geauga County, Ohio with his family. He works for the Geauga County Public Library and also is a professional entertainer.
