Ohio University Eastern announces captains
Ohio University Eastern Head Women’s Basketball Coach
E. J. Schodzinski has announced that Savannah Burke, Allie Doan, Natalie Perzanowski and Amber Skvarka have been selected as captains for the upcoming 2010-11 season. The well-rounded student athletes are not strangers to success, as each was selected to the Ohio Regional Campus All-Academic Honor Roll, as well as the All-Conference Basketball Team following the 2009-10 season. Burke, a junior from Beallsville, averaged 16.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per game last season from her power forward position. Doan, a junior wing from Barnesville, was the leading scorer last year at 17.3 points per game. Perzanowski, a sophomore point guard from St. Clairsville, averaged 10.3 points, 4.5 assists and 3.4 steals per contest. Skvarka, a senior guard from Martins Ferry, tallied 13.5 points and 2.5 steals per game. Schodzinski said, “I am very proud of Allie, Amber, Natalie, and Savannah. They are true student-athletes and have worked extremely hard on and off the court to gain the respect of their teammates. They are fine representatives of Ohio University Eastern and I fully expect them to help lead us to another banner year.” The Lady Panthers finished last season with a 21-5 overall record and won their second consecutive East Division of the Ohio Regional Campus Conference with a perfect 13-0 conference mark.
