Eastern Campus Invites Prospective Students to Visitation Day
High school students, transfer students and parents are invited to Ohio University Eastern Campus Friday, April 23 at 10 a.m. to explore what the local university campus has to offer. The Visitation Day will last until about 1:30 p.m., and those wishing to attend are asked to rsvp online at www.eastern.ohiou.edu or call 740-699-2536. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the campus, learn about the eleven bachelor’s degrees available, hear about the extracurricular activities, and meet faculty, staff and students. Information about paying for college will be available. Currently, the tuition and fees for a full-time student at the campus is less than $5,000/year. Full-time is defined as being registered for a minimum of 12 hours each quarter. “Students and parents shopping around for schools need to be aware of how full-time fees are calculated at each school they visit,” said Kevin Chenoweth, student services manager. “Some schools will quote a full-time fee based on 12 hours, but for every additional hour, the tuition goes up. On the other hand, schools like Ohio University and all their regional campuses have a comprehensive fee which means there is a flat fee for students registered for 11-20 hours each quarter. Twelve hours of credit during one quarter costs the same as 17 hours. That can really add up through a college career.” The application fee will be waived on visitation day for anyone wishing to apply, and lunch will be provided. For more information about Campus Visitation Day, call 740-699-2536. |
