Learn how to draw workshop at Ohio University Eastern Campus
Have you ever looked at a drawing and thought, “I want to do that”? If so, now is your chance. Join instructor and local artist Cecy Rose at Ohio University Eastern Campus on Wednesday, May 19, 6-9 p.m. for a non-credit workshop on the fine art of drawing. Participants must be 18 years or older. The instructional fee for the workshop is $35, and pre-registration is strongly suggested in order to obtain a list of supplies needed. The workshop will cover the basics of life drawing and mixed media drawing. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have completed at least two pieces reflecting the use of transfer, graphite, conte, and charcoal drawing from life and from copying. Participants will learn figurative drawing by the use of a model. During this time, participants will learn the basics of classical “Atelier” drawing encompassing gesture, proportion, line, mass, value and composition. There will also be a demonstration given in mixed media as it relates to drawing. Because fine art drawing is the foundation of every other art form, it is essential that students as well as practicing artists experience a course such as this one in order to refresh their current skill level as well as aid them in exploring their own individual areas of art.
