Eastern Campus Kicks-off Dean's Cultural Series on March 6
Ohio University Eastern Campus has announced its Spring 2010 Dean’s Cultural Series with a line-up of three events open to the public. Admission to the events is free and business casual attire is encouraged. The first event is March 6. The public is invited to the production of “Noises Off” in the Shannon Hall Theater. A reception will begin at 7 p.m. and the play will follow at 8 p.m. “Noises Off” is a fast-paced British farce about a down-on-their-luck acting troupe desperately trying to put on a play. With the help of a rotating set, the audience has a rare opportunity to view the comic mayhem both on stage and offstage. “Noises Off” has been called the funniest play ever written. The Wheeling Symphony’s String Quintet will perform at Ohio University Eastern Campus on Thursday, April 8 at 7 p.m. A reception will follow. The Dean’s Cultural Series will culminate May 6 with an enthusiastic and entertaining presentation by Dr. Jim Gillingham, professor of biology from Central Michigan University. Gillingham will tell the story of the Tuatara, a living reptile that pre-dates the dinosaur. He will show how realistic models of the Tuatara and video-imaging have been used in the field to see how these fascinating animals respond and behave. The presentation will be held at noon in the Shannon Hall Theater. For more information about any of the events, or to RSVP, please contact the Dean’s Office at Ohio University Eastern Campus at 740-699-2494. |
