Chillicothe Campus' Charles & Daisy Black Equestrian Center Announces 2010 Schedule of Shows
The Ohio University-Chillicothe Charles & Daisy Black Equestrian Center has listed its schedule for 2010 shows. The equestrian center is located at 32505 U.S. Route 50, Chillicothe – just east of Chillicothe and west of Londonderry.
For all horse shows, there will be a food booth on the equestrian center grounds. All proceeds from events benefit the Ohio University-Chillicothe Charles & Daisy Black Equestrian Center, unless otherwise specified. Hunter/jumper classes have been added to all shows this year, and year-end awards will be given in six categories.
All shows will include classes for riders with disabilities. For further information, contact equestrian center coordinator Amy Sims at (740) 253-3848.
MAY
Friday Night Open Show – Fun Show – Friday, May 14, 6:30 p.m.
Daisy Black Memorial Special Equestrian Horse Show – Saturday, May 15
JUNE
Open Horse Show - Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. *
Open 4-H Horse Show – Sunday, June 13
Stay for both days – overnighters welcome (Primitive or Self Sufficient, sorry no plug-ins, no fires)
JULY
Open Horse Show - Saturday, July 31, 10 a.m. *
AUGUST
Hunter Jumper Horse Show, Saturday, Aug. 21, 10 a.m. *
SEPTEMBER
Fall Open Horse Show – Saturday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m. *
Special Olympics/Special Equestrian Event – Sunday, Sept. 12
*Denotes shows that count toward-year end awards. Awards will be given to champion and reserve in the following categories: English, over fences, western, gymkanna, most improved rider and versatility.
